Performing and Music – singing, especially – are some of my passions. My earliest musical memory is when I was about 4 and I heard my older sister, Gail, singing harmony with a play mate. I asked her to show me how and I skipped off in total bliss. Elementary School found me entering various talent shows and I won best in show at a 4-H event in Manassas! Back then I idolized Barbara Streisand and Andy Williams and saved my allowance to buy every one of their records. During my "five-year sentence at an all-girls Catholic high school" the only thing I liked was singing 3-part harmony in the choir. On weekends, my best friend and I would taste sweet freedom going to blue grass festivals all over the Virginia countryside. I adored, and still do, the music of the '70's. After college I immersed myself deeply in theatrical performance for about 15 years. I was fortunate to land leading roles in various community and professional theater productions. For a few years during the Holiday Season I sang professionally with a Dickinson-esque roaming singing ensemble at The Ritz Carlton, area malls, and private parties. Although I love many genres of music, bluegrass has been a common thread in my life since I was 14. Prior to CityFarm’s formation, I was part of a bluegrass band that played the Moose Lodge and American Legion circuits. Whether we are rehearsing or performing together I love my fellow "Farmers" like best buddy-brothers. We have such a good time and the wit and laughter are constantly flying. It is my hope that we continue to stretch and grow together and I am also open to the Universe providing me with additional collaborations of musicians and venues to do what I love.
